Portrait of José Simon

Technology Advisor · Enterprise Architect · Entrepreneur

I turn complex technology problems into clear decisions and executable solutions.

For 20+ years, I've worked across software, delivery, operations, architecture and business in Latin America. Today I connect strategy, architecture, technology and AI without losing sight of execution.

Perspective

I've worked on different layers of the same problem.

I started in software engineering. Over time, the work expanded into technical leadership, projects, customers, operations, architecture and entrepreneurship. That progression changed how I look at technology: a system is never only code, an architecture is never only a diagram, and a decision is only useful if it can be executed. Today I bring those layers together — from business context to production reality — while exploring how AI can amplify both judgment and execution.

What I Do

A focused set of ways I help leaders and teams make technology move.

01

Technology Strategy & Advisory

Clarify decisions, trade-offs, risks and investment paths before technology becomes expensive.

02

Enterprise & Solution Architecture

Turn business needs into architectures that can be implemented, integrated, operated and evolved.

03

Cloud & Modernization

Design pragmatic paths from legacy and fragmented environments toward resilient, secure, cloud-enabled platforms.

04

AI & Transformation

Apply AI, agents and automation where they can change how work, software and systems are designed and operated.

Experience

The roles changed. The problem got wider.

More than 20 years, distilled into five stages rather than a complete resume.

01 — Build

Software Engineering

I started by building enterprise software — working with applications, databases, integrations and transactional systems. That hands-on foundation still shapes how I evaluate architecture today.

02 — Lead

Teams, Projects & Clients

The work expanded from individual delivery into leading development, managing projects and working directly with customers — learning how scope, expectations, risk and communication shape technical outcomes.

03 — Operate

Delivery & Regional Operations

I moved deeper into delivery and operational leadership across regional enterprise environments, spanning engineering, customer management and large multidisciplinary teams.

I spent 15 years with Icon Américas and, following its acquisition, Ericsson — progressing from software engineering into client management, delivery and regional operations.

04 — Architect

Enterprise, Solution & Cloud Architecture

Architecture became the point where business, systems, integration, cloud, security and operations could be treated as one problem instead of separate disciplines.

05 — Build Again

Entrepreneurship & AI

Since 2018, I've increasingly built from the other side: companies, products, methods and software — while exploring how AI can become an execution layer across architecture, engineering and operations.

Across the layers

Depth without losing altitude.

My work spans business context, architecture and hands-on technical execution. The value is not any single tool; it is being able to move between levels without losing the problem.

Software Modernization

Turning legacy and fragmented systems into evolvable platforms through APIs, cloud patterns, incremental migration and modern web and mobile channels.

AI-enabled Software Engineering

Developing AI-enabled software engineering methods that improve repeatability, quality and engineering leverage while keeping human judgment in the loop.

Things I've Built

Ventures, systems and methods I've developed along the way.

Technology Ventures

I've built and operated technology ventures around architecture, software, cloud and enterprise project execution.

AI-enabled Software Engineering

I've been developing ways to combine deterministic engineering, architecture rules, AI and human judgment to make software delivery more repeatable and scalable.

AI Adoption for Teams

I work on practical methods for integrating AI into real team workflows — development, administration, testing, documentation and decision-making — with an emphasis on method rather than prompt tricks.

Executable Architecture

I explore how architecture can move beyond static documents and become structured knowledge that people, systems and AI can use during execution.

How I Work

Clear thinking before expensive execution.

01

Frame

Define the real problem, decision, constraints and risks. Separate symptoms from root causes before discussing tools.

02

Architect

Design an executable path, make trade-offs explicit and choose technology only after the problem is clear.

03

Execute

Stay close enough to delivery to test the architecture against implementation, integration, operations and reality.

04

Evolve

Measure what changed, simplify what can be simplified, and use automation or AI where it genuinely increases capacity.
